Minolta MD lenses

The Minolta Celtic 50mm f3.5 macro lens, far right.

Using a cheap adapter it’s easy to mount the old Minolta Celtic 50mm f3.5 macro lens to my X-T1 or X-Pro1. Manual focus is quite easy with focus peaking and shooting in aperture priority. This lens focuses down to 1:2 which is ok for fooling around handheld.

It’s a sharp lens when stopped down, but slightly hazy as most older lenses wide open. Bokeh is beautiful. Focus is the smoothest I’ve ever experienced, like buttery butter with extra butter on the side.
