Looking through my CD collection (nostalgic alert!) I found an EP that I recorded back in 1998 that I had totally forgotten about. The project was called Flex Booter and the hunk machine, which I found at the time to be an excellent band name. I guess I still think that.
Better yet, the songs are pretty cool, in an alt rock, humorous way. I especially liked the bass line on “Ajar”. It was recorded through a german synthesizer software called Rubberduck into a Sony MDM-X4 minidisc 4-track. Other notable things to listen out for are the orchestra cymbals on “The things you do when you are drunk” and the really great high-pitched backup-singing which was the style of the times. All in all I think these songs aren´t so bad, though none in my class ever mentioned listening to the CDs I gave them. I guess they missed out. Ho ho.
The songs were never mastered, so the volume vary a bit. I might fix that some day. Or maybe not.
Anyway, have a listen. Click here to listen/download.
I also found a strange song that was recorded around the same time, called Infuntile. It´s also in the jukebox or take a listen to it here:
